You know it makes me quite sad how the world has convinces a lot of us that who we are and our body aren’t connected. A lot of songs make it sound like your body is just some sort of attachment that you can detach from and not have anything effect you. The problem with that kind of thinking is, it keeps your from giving your body the appropriate amount of respect. How you treat your body shows the world how much you respect yourself. When I see guys walking around with their clothes 8 sizes to big or 400 holes in their face, regardless of the kind of person they are I know how they feel about themselves. When I see a girl with a shirt that is cut too low or pants that are too tight or a skirt that is too short, they may be one of the nicest people on the planet, but I know how much respect they have for themselves. Now I’m not saying that we should all run around dressing like we are Amish, but I really do wish people realized that their clothes do say something about them. I’m not saying we should judge people by the way the dress, I’m saying that you can tell a lot about the amount of respect a person has for themselves by the clothes that they wear. Its not about style or taste its about modesty. Our society has pushed you to be sexually minded way too early. I was shopping for my nephew the other day and saw skinny low rise jeans for 4 year olds. Say what you want but the reason skinny jeans are popular is because they are so stinking tight it doesn’t leave a whole lot to the imagination. I know what the purpose of them is, why in the world does a 4 year old need jeans like that. The world you live in no longer respects you or your body. They want you to wear less and less and want you to believe that to be modest you have to dress like a nun. Express yourself through your clothing but realize what you wear says a lot about who you are. Show the world you still respect yourself. Become the Target.
