Don’t believe everything you think.

Standard

I saw a bumper sticker driving to Portland that said, “Don’t believe everything you think.” It made me laugh and it was the first bumper sticker I could actually see myself putting on my car. It was also the first bumper sticker that actually made me think.  Have you ever wondered if what you believe is the truth is actually the truth or just your own idea? Its very easy to get yourself believing whole heartedly in an idea that has spun around in your head for a while. Proverbs 12:15 says,”The way of a fool seems right to him, but the wise man listens to advice.” That’s basically what the bumper sticker said. Sometimes we get lazy and we forget that the right way is written down. We forget to read it, or worse yet, we read it and then determine on our own what God meant. The book that God left us he meant for us to talk about it together. He never meant for us to stay in our own heads. A fool will believe everything he thinks, but a wise man will ask people he trusts what they think. Become the Target.
